What is Scalp Micropigmentation/Hair Tattoo?

Foli Sim Blog

Considered by some to be a novel approach to treating hair loss or thinning hair. Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) / Hair Tattoo is the process of having your scalp tattooed with tiny micro-dots of medical-grade pigment that resemble the appearance of stubble, giving you the appearance of a short, ‘buzz-cut’ hairstyle.

It has been called an ‘immediate solution to hair loss’ and is suitable for both men and women (including some forms of alopecia). There is no invasive surgery, scarring or down-time, and the results are immediate.

What does it Involve?

Scalp Micropigmentation doesn’t penetrate the skin as deeply as a normal tattoo. The pigment colour can be matched to your existing or previous hair colour and skin tone. Unlike tattoo ink, the pigment used retains its intended colour.

SMP allows the creation of a natural looking hairline as well as the ability to create the appearance of a fuller, thicker head of hair. This is achieved by carefully and meticulously placing micro dots of pigment amongst any existing hair, replicating your natural hair follicles. Less hair / scalp contrast gives you the appearance of greater thickness and natural-looking density.

The treatment is generally performed over 2-4 sessions, depending on the size of the area being treated. One of the advantages with Scalp Micropigmentation is if you should continue to experience further hair loss, experience any fading or the hair colour changes, the treatment can be touched up to match and blend.

Foli Sim use only the highest standard of medical-grade pigment along with the latest, state of the art equipment. All procedures are carried out in a clean, sterile clinic environment so you can be assured of safety and quality.
